New Year, Same Me…
30 days of drawing
For the past three years, I’ve started the year by following along with 30 Days of drawing with Wendy MacNaughton of DrawTogether. Looking back through my sketchbooks, I can proudly say that my daily drawing habit is solid.
So why do I still do it? It’s fun. It gets my feet onto the cold floor on early January mornings. But most of all, it’s the community it brings together. Everyone involved seems like such good humans, and I really want to surround myself with good people right now. I love imagining people all over the world getting the same daily prompt, setting alarms, and spending their ten minutes in their sketchbooks.
In ten minutes a day, beautiful art isn’t made—very silly self-portraits are. And maybe it’s all just silliness, but I hope that in these dark days, living through the cruelty of the U.S. government, we can take a moment to remember to be silly.

So go be silly in a sketchbook~
